Gardening & Bidding

Dollhouse Wooden Delft Firescreen

I had a very successful day yesterday. I hand pruned my 15!!! Eugenia topiaries and they look wonderful. My gardeners do not like taking the time to hand prune so I did it myself. My English shears do such a better job than that awful power one they use. They look just like English boxwoods (that do not grow here) and they are in single balls, double balls and poodle shapes. And I ordered 125 bags of black mulch from Lowe's to be delivered.

Their bagged black, brown, or red mulch is $2.00 a bag which is a fantastic price. The sale ends Wednesday so don't delay. Find it here.

Then I bid on two eBay auctions. I won the blue and white Delft dollhouse fireplace screen above. It will go in the living room at mini CCC. I am looking for a marble fireplace.

The other piece is quite unique - it is a wicker hotel lobby conversation sofa. It looks like it belongs in The Breakers or The Greenbrier. I will look for someone on Etsy to make a custom cushion for it. I am thinking about finding a solarium or greenhouse to add to mini CCC for it and plants and such. I would like to repaint it in white or green, but it is a very special signed Artisan piece, so I really should leave it be.

I also started deciding on flooring - I am leaning heavily into marble and wood herringbone - my favorites.
