We sadly do not have much fall foliage in South Florida, so I make up for it with heirloom pumpkins that I love. Did you know that heirloom pumpkins last far longer with their thick firm skins? Some can last up to 12 months. I get mine in early September and keep them though Thanksgiving and have never had one rot. Do wash your pumpkins with dish liquid and water when you get them home. They will look better and last longer.
I got this wonderful pair of witches' hats below at HomeGoods that light up - these will go outside when we get closer to Halloween. They have 5 hour timers so they will go on at sunset and turn themselves off. I don't want to hang out outside late at night with alligators and bobcats and coyotes and such!

Celadon is of course very Chinoiserie Chic and my celadon pumpkins go so well with blue and white Chinese porcelain.

Not a single hurricane has hit the mainland of the United States this hurricane season. This photo looks like a modern abstract painting but it is a very rare two hurricanes Imelda and Humberto dancing with each other in the Atlantic, a phenomenon called the Fujiwhara Effect. This occurs when two storms are so close they impact one another. Fingers crossed that the beautiful island of Bermuda in Imelda's path fares well today. These are thankfully headed away from the United States.
