I can't believe August is already here - this summer is flying by! My Spanish Wine Tasting and Tapas event is tonight and as I posted about this week, I decided to use miniature sunflowers as a centerpiece since they are very Spanish.
See my post here. I have never bought sunflowers before, but they are darling - so cheerful and summery and this arrangement cost me $4.00 from Publix!
I made my gazpacho yesterday to bring tonight and it is the best gazpacho ever. So light and healthy. Make it this weekend and you will love it. It is a great way to try fennel too!

I love Spanish wines and am bringing a Tempranillo, an Albarino, and a Cava tonight. Spanish wines are excellent and a great value. Pick one up to go with the gazpacho and have a great weekend.
Thanks to your post yesterday I went to Publix for sunflowers. Bought an armful.
ReplyDeleteBefore I cut and arrange them I spray them with hairspray. (not the petals). Keeps the pollen in place instead of my tables.
Yellow is not my color, but these are like small lanterns and one can't help but smile and of course bring on a feeling that autumn is around the corner. The heat has been brutal and I'm ready to welcome fall whenever it comes.
You'll look a smash in your red and yellow tonight and guests will swoon over the Gazpacho.
