I saw candles in the shape and size of tomatoes and strawberries at HomeGoods that would be darling. And this is the perfect time to use your blue and white china. Add organic touches like rattan chargers and bamboo flatware. If you have blue water glasses or wine glasses, grab them.
Followers of Chinoiserie Chic likely have many of these elements in your homes already.
I saw these pinwheels at Target yesterday for $3.00. Use several of them in a blue and white ginger jar in lieu of flowers as a centerpiece. I am hosting a big Fourth of July party at my clubhouse and am thinking about these pinwheels in blue and white ginger jars or wicker urns as centerpieces. Shipping is free with a $35 order.

Time for me to start preparations for my Alsatian Wine Dinner later this afternoon.
Please tell us more about your wine parties. You have mentioned in the past that people bring various components of the menu. Or, do you do the cooking? Or, do you have the meal catered? You do these wine dinners so often and I wonder if you now have it as a business. Or, is it just a large fun group of friends and neighbors?
ReplyDeleteI host 2. One is all neighbors in the community where I live and the other is a club. Each month I select the wine and suggest food pairings. Everyone brings a bottle of the varietal I have chosen and a complementary food pairing. In my community they are at my clubhouse and for the club they are in people's homes. I teach a mini class on the wine and everyone introduces themselves and their wine and pairing. I also decorate, have music, and such. They are lovely events with huge waitlists. I also bring wines and dishes I have prepared. I have been to hundreds and hundreds of vineyards and have been in wine clubs for decades. But this is completely volunteer. People making friends, enjoying neighbors, and having wonderful food and wine. A labor of love.
DeleteYou are obviously a giving person in every sense of the word. Bless your heart.
ReplyDeleteThat's very kind of you. Thank you. It's a wonderful way for people to make friends and meet neighbors. And there are so many wonderful cooks who love to share their culinary talents with others.
DeleteVery much enjoyed the questions, and your answers, Beth. 💚
ReplyDeleteThanks!
