Did you know most Alabaster eggs are mined from Volterra, Italy? Alabaster is a stone found at the bottom of lakes or ponds. It was once considered a precious mineral and can be dyed various colors. The eggs are hand formed and will feel substantially heavy in the hand. Older variations are more opaque, white, cream, tan, golden, or soft pink tones and are not as vibrant as the colors you see today.
