Styling the Tulipiere

Juliska Tulipiere

Tulipieres, as the name indicates, were originally created to hold tulips. Tulipieres originated in 17th century London during the height of tulip mania.

Here is a classic blue and white tulipiere filled with purple and white tulips.

I like the inspiration of the top photo with a casual arrangement in the tulipiere of ferns and poppies. This charmingly informal approach can be achieved with some foliage from the garden, a few snips from houseplants, or even herbs and just a few flowers from the garden or store.

  1. These tulipieres are so beautiful. I love the informality of the one with the ferns, and the blue and white one with the deep purple and white flowers is just stunning. I've never been much of a fan of the color purple, but I'm starting to look at it from a fresh perspective, and I find there are many shades of purple that I love.

I can definitely feel signs of Spring here in northern California, but we always get this tease of warm weather, then it cools off again. The weather the past few days has been perfect - around 67 to 70.
