Setting the Holiday Table

Juliska

This is quite fabulous - a large crystal bowl filled with different varieties of oranges, kumquats, greenery (rosemary or Christmas tree cuttings) and orange protea. This would make a wonderful centerpiece for the holidays. And if your china is blue and white that is great - I love orange with blue and white. If protea are hard to find, apricot colored roses would be pretty or other flowers in the orange family. You can use floral stem tubes with water hidden in the oranges so the cut flowers don't wilt.

Rattan chargers, bamboo flatware, and wicker hurricanes would work beautifully with this.

Here are some fun ideas to create this holiday table -

  1. This will be perfect for the brunch table Christmas Day. So easy, so festive. Rosemary, a favorite in the garden.
Whole Food has kumquats. Hope you can find some too. They cost same as a convertible Mercedes. No doubt the shipping from Florida drove up the price this year.

  2. This reminds me that I have my MIL’s gorgeous cut-crystal punch bowl. It weighs a ton, but it has beautiful etched designs. And we have never used it—yet. Going to look for the perfect fruit and greenery for this heirloom piece. Thanks for the inspiration!
