I saw this mattress online and had to track it down. I did and then I saw the price....
It retails for over $60,000. No, that is not a typo - sixty thousand dollars! The Swedish company has been making these horse hair mattresses for 170 years. The singer Drake reportedly paid $500,000 for a custom one for his home in Toronto. They can also be found in some very high end hotels and cruise ships.
That's like a house down payment for most people.
So for the rest of us, here are some ideas for your own luxury bed that I love and I even found some blue and white gingham ideas too. Many of these are favorites of mine at CCC.
Always knew about Hastens beds. The Swedish royal family allegedly sleep on them. The silk pillowcase is something I always rest my head on. Did you not do a write up on a bed tray some while ago? I got mine from Scully and Scully and I prefer it because you can lift off the tray and also rest your book. But it's white. I would have loved the blue. Ordered the sleep mask for guest bedrooms, and a blue candle for me. Thanks Beth. Stay cool and dry.
ReplyDeleteI was aware of Hastens beds, although I have never had to opportunity to lie down on one, much less sleep on one. There are other very high priced beds out there too. Savoir is the first one that comes to my mind. I cannot comprehend how a bed can cost $60,000.00, but what do I know. Maybe I'm just not a bed connoisseur.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the beds may be amazing the company's business practices are horrendous. They sued an interior design company in Texas for using a blue and white plaid fabric on a sofa. Coco and Dash have an IG account which details what they went through with the company.
ReplyDeleteAmazing to me that they could obtain trademarks on blue and white checked fabric. It's quite a story. Thank you.
