Martinique Wallpaper at The Beverly Hills Hotel |
There are few patterns as iconic as CW Stockwell's Martinique, commonly called banana leaf. It was launched in 1942 and became an instant hit, perhaps most famous for its use at The Beverly Hills Hotel. It has become wildly popular again in recent years, with new collaborations featuring this famous pattern.
Mark and Graham has a wonderful collection that I posted on before. But now some pieces in the collection are on sale, and you take an additional 25% off the sale price. Use code EXTRA25.
See the entire collection here. There are great pieces for your home or wardrobe, without the expense or committment of wallpapering a room. Some pieces are available in an exclusive pink colorway.
I know I am a stickler for detail, but Mark and Graham refers to all these pieces as palm leaf prints. Martinique is a banana leaf pattern and a banana tree is not a palm tree. Just saying....

My consultation with the orthopedic surgeon could not have gone better yesterday. Despite having broken my knee cap into three pieces, I do not need surgery or physical therapy or crutches or even a cane. I was fitted with a much lighter more high tech splint immobilizer. I have a followup appointment on July 8th and if all goes well I might be able to start driving then. I should be all back to normal in 6 weeks. I am so grateful and feel like I really dodged a bullet. Thanks again for all your comments, support, and prayers. I am a bit exhausted from all of this but grateful for the news and for all the support from my friends and neighbors and Chinoiserie Chic followers.
“Life doesn't always get better.
But you do. You get stronger.
You get wiser. You get softer.
With tattered wings you rise.
And the world watches in wonder
at the breathless beauty of
a human who survived life.”

That sounds like the best prognosis! Continued best wishes for your recovery.
ReplyDeleteDearest Beth, WHAT GREAT NEWS. I am so happy for you. It means I can now sleep at night and not worry about you. I did you know. Six weeks will be gone in no time and you'll be back to your dangerous self, getting your followers back in our shopping frenzy. Not that that ever stopped. Today the ice bucket and cheese board will be the perfect gift for my lovely daughter in Old Town. The one who has everything. Again Beth to the rescue. Thank you. You are such a champ.

ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you've received some positive news about your knee, Beth.
ReplyDeleteThe Mark & Graham collection is fun, but apparently they don't know their palms from their bananas.
I love the Beverley Hills Hotel. In the 80's I lived on the west side, not too far from there. The BHH signature shop used to sell beautiful pink and white striped cotton pajamas with their logo embroidered on them. I loved them. Unfortunately the pink and whites are no longer available in cotton. Only the banana leaf is.
Dear Beth,
ReplyDeleteHopefully the provider has given you some pain medicine to give you some relief; ice helps a lot too. I always say, there is no pain like bone pain.
You are amazing to keep up with your daily messages along with all you have to deal with. Many blessings & stay strong. You are amazing.
