Christmas Decorating by Room

Matthew Bees - House Beautiful

Now that November is here, Christmas decorating is right around the corner. I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing lots of ideas for decorating your home for the holidays.

I love adding festive touches to each room. This is lovely inspiration for the bedroom. A red lacquered magnolia wreath, red roses, red trimmed linens, and a red lampshade add festive and elegant touches.

The lacquered wreath is from the Magnolia Company and is available in many colors. The red version comes in four different sizes. This is the smallest 18" size in the room above. These wreaths last for many years.

I found a great tutorial on House Beautiful on a DIY lacquered lampshade. Find it here. It sounds very easy.

One of my favorite decorating ideas for the holidays for my master bedroom is a pair of red silk Blissy pillowcases. They look great and I always sleep on silk pillowcases - fantastic for your hair and skin.

This toile Christmas tree would be darling on a bedside table or dresser.

  2. I'm starting my Christmas decorating next week. I used to begin on Thanksgiving Friday, but it's a lot of work & this way I get a couple more weeks of enjoyment -- why not? Things in the world are crazy...I want to live in my little Christmas fantasy world sooner rather than later. 💚
