Pineapples

Lulu de Kwiatkowski - Veranda Magazine

The entrance at textile designer Lulu DK's Bahamian home really embraces pineapples. I always associated pineapples with Colonial Williamsburg decor, and didn't realize until more recently how much they are used in tropical, beachy, island decor.

  1. I have a vintage (1940’s) China cabinet with carved pineapple leaves on top.
I adore it! It is my favorite piece of furniture. When I was deciding on whether to buy it, my friend said
“But it’s not an antique!” I said
“It will be when I die!”

  2. What a fun and great post! I love Lulu, I love her designs and I love her porch. I wonder where in the world she found those giant green glazed pineapples that adorn her porch. Her designs have such a happy and whimsical quality about them. Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality.
