Lulu de Kwiatkowski - Veranda Magazine |
The entrance at textile designer Lulu DK's Bahamian home really embraces pineapples. I always associated pineapples with Colonial Williamsburg decor, and didn't realize until more recently how much they are used in tropical, beachy, island decor.
I use lots of pineapples in my Florida beach house, and for entertaining I love using fresh pineapples. If you have one of these large clam shells I have posted on before, it looks great filled with pineapples and tropical fruit.

I have a vintage (1940’s) China cabinet with carved pineapple leaves on top.
ReplyDeleteI adore it! It is my favorite piece of furniture. When I was deciding on whether to buy it, my friend said
“But it’s not an antique!” I said
“It will be when I die!”
I wish we were friends!! and I had that cabinet!
DeleteThat is so funny! Love it!
DeleteWhat a fun and great post! I love Lulu, I love her designs and I love her porch. I wonder where in the world she found those giant green glazed pineapples that adorn her porch. Her designs have such a happy and whimsical quality about them. Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality.
