I have been a Philadelphia Eagles fan since college at Bryn Mawr on Philadelphia's Main Line. When I started college, I drove a huge Cadillac from Chicago to Philadelphia to bring out all my things. The Cadillac belonged to a Chicago Bears player who had been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and needed his car brought East.
So I am picking the Eagles even though I am also a big Patrick Mahomes fan. But with his ankle injury, he is not 100.% In addition, the eagle is often depicted in chinoiserie. It is a symbol of strength and resolve in Chinese culture. You will find it in Chinese porcelain. So the Eagles are a Chinoiserie Chic pick.

And I am staying in because after going to many Super Bowl parties over the years, most people are there to socialize and I love football and I actually want to watch the game. They are two great teams worthy of being in the Super Bowl. And I am looking forward to Rihanna's Halftime Show!

I am having hot buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing, homemade guacamole and chips, and stuffed jalapeños. I am not a beer fan, so I'll be pairing this spicy menu with an off dry Alsatian Reisling.

ReplyDeleteLived in the Kansas City area for many years and were neighbors of former Chiefs coach the late Marty Schottenheimer so I’ll always be a Chiefs fan. Mostly I’m rooting for no injuries!
ReplyDeleteAm also thinking the EAGLES will win - and will be enjoying Texas Caviar Dip, Grilled Venison Sausage, Fried Chicken Tenders, Veggies & Ranch Dip and Margerita Flatbread Pizza - YUM Would LOVE it to be a great (safe) game, too !
ReplyDeleteAlso an Eagles fan having grown up across the river in Haddonfield NJ. I went to a Superbowl party last year and didn't see any of the game or half time show! So, I am also staying home this year as well!

ReplyDeleteAs a diehard Eagles fan, I will be home for the game. I'll be keeping it simple with Kronenbourg, Rocco's Taco's handmade guac and clips. Need to keep it simple for when I am yelling at the television. Go Birds!
