The Blue and White Bathroom

Summer Thornton

This wonderful blue and white bathroom features Gracie Studio's Indigo Garden wallpaper. It is from Summer Thornton's first and new book Wonderland.

Wonderland : Adventures in Decorating by Summer Thornton

"Follow rising star designer Summer Thornton down the rabbit hole into a wonderland of color and pattern in her very first book of interiors.

Interior decorator Summer Thornton believes in designing with the wildest abandon: her world is one of nickel tubs, marble fireplaces, whimsical textiles, surprising patterns, and secret gardens. Often described as maximalist with a modern, fresh sensibility, Thornton manages to achieve highly polished, sophisticated interiors that indulge in a lighthearted, almost irreverent sense of whimsy. In her first book, she will inspire readers to follow their creative impulses and make their own rules."

I am a big fan of her work and have posted many of her rooms and am really looking forward to adding this book to my library.

Here are some rooms of hers I have posted on in the past. They are filled with chinoiserie, blue and white, and many are in Florida with the beachy vibe I love.

  1. Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Do stay safe as the hurricane approaches. When we lived in Houston, we always filled up the bathtubs with water so we would have water for flushing and for boiling.

    1. I did fill my bathtub, but luckily did not lose power or water. Many did.

  3. That bathroom in the first picture is just gorgeous, and I love Summer's style. I have never lived in hurricane country. Yes, please do stay safe. What can one do to stay safe in a hurricane, aside from going further inland?
