Vintage Palm Beach Wicker

Palm Beach Wicker China Cabinet

I had to share a wonderful vintage find of my daughter's this week. She and her fiancé love vintage pieces and are filling their new home in Annapolis, Maryland with them. She found this vintage wicker china cabinet on Facebook Marketplace at a Delaware beach house.

This photo is it in the seller's beach house from the Marketplace ad. We both Googled it and found nightstands and dressers all referred to as "Palm Beach Wicker." Not sure if "Palm Beach Wicker" was a brand or the style. They are from the 1970's. All have this washed natural finish and carved seashell pulls and are thousands of dollars for smaller pieces - we couldn't find any big pieces like this one. They snagged it for $140 in mint condition.

Here are a couple of examples.

Vintage Palm Beach Wicker Nightstand - $1,500 plus shipping

Do any of you use Facebook Marketplace? I may have to start. Kate said it is such a heavy piece (actually two pieces), they had to call TaskRabbit to get it into the house. She plans to fill it with her growing collection of Estelle glassware.

  5. It's beautiful, and for $140.00, she hit the jackpot. I've never even heard of FB marketplace, but I've never had a FB account because I was concerned about giving up that much privacy.

  8. I have used FB Marketplace for a couple of purchases, my favorite of which is the white wicker elephant table I stumbled upon for $50 a couple of years ago. In my opinion, it isn't as good as it once was, as it is much more ad-heavy now. But there are still some finds within, if you pay attention. You just never know....! Your daughter's find is beyond AWESOME! Good for her!!!
