Setting the Spring Table - Famille Rose

Famille Rose Collection

The term "famille rose" (meaning of the “pink family”) refers to Chinese porcelain glazed with enamels in a predominantly pink, white, yellow, and green color palette. Perhaps you have some antique or vintage pieces in this classic chinoiserie style.

Williams Sonoma has come out with a collection that is stunning and really well priced. It is gorgeous in person!

"Fanciful, festive and inspired by Chinese porcelain, our hand-finished dinnerware comes in eye-catching colors and patterns. Each gold-rimmed porcelain piece features a unique design embellished with flora and fauna. The collection layers beautifully to create an elegant table for both everyday dining and special occasions.

Made of porcelain with clear glaze and gold rims.

Trim, glaze and decals are all applied by hand.

Coordinates with other pieces in the Famille Rose Dinnerware collection.

Dinner plates and pasta bowls are sold individually and in sets of four.

Salad plates are sold individually and in set of four, one of each design.

Appetizer plates are sold in set of four, one of each design.

Mug sold individually.

Microwavable and dishwasher safe."

Here are some favorite pieces from the collection. See the entire collection here. These would be gorgeous for setting the table for Easter or Mother's Day. My suggestion would be to get a few pieces to mix and mach with your existing china - like the beautiful set of salad plates, for example.

I love it combined with bamboo flatware and seagrass placemats.

  4. Totally nuts about this collection! Have been looking at it for a while almost prepared to throw caution to the wind, get it, AND decorate around it--that's because I'd love to have it displayed.

Don't know how to justify it when I already have (at least) 4 sets of china and have not (fully entertained in a few years. But I love just looking at it.

SO many pretty things, so little space.

    1. It is gorgeous! I have a huge kitchen here and ample storage luckily. Just get a few pieces as I suggested.

  5. Oh no, am I about to buy yet another set of dishes? I had never seen these and they are so beautiful - and microwave/dishwasher safe, which is essential.

  6. I know the feeling - I plan gorgeous table settings, but it's been so long since I've entertained! I then I invite too many people and have to reduce the amount of stuff on the table.
