I think I have solved a bunch of my kitchen "mini reno" issues. I actually love my kitchen cabinets, layout, backsplash, and countertops and have decided just to upgrade my appliances as you all know. The other issue was where and how to display my growing collection of Le Creuset and Staub cookware as I posted about yesterday.
My kitchen is quite large and there is no center island. I like the idea of adding an island that looks like a unique antique or vintage piece. I don't want anything large and clunky that takes up a lot of visual space. I found this piece above and it is perfect!!!! I love the black iron and marble top - it will look great with my marble herringbone backsplash.
The bottom will house my fancy cookware. It is large enough to be functional but not clutter up my kitchen. I can add a couple of stools if I like, but I already have a peninsula with stools so I may not. I counted and I have 42 places to sit in my house which sounds like more than enough to me. LOL
Here are more photos of this piece styled. I'm debating whether I buzz up to the mall to see it in person, but I really don't feel like it - I used to love malls and now I hate them. It gets dozens of stellar reviews, so I might just order it today.
This is a great choice if you are looking for a smaller unique freestanding island. I am looking forward to styling it with my blue and white gourmet cookware and of course some blue and white Chinese porcelain.
This looks like a stellar piece!
ReplyDeleteThanks - I have ordered it.
DeletePerfect choice. I am looking forward to seeing your "new" kitchen come together.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I ordered it and now will turn back to my appliance hunt. Love a project with no demo!
DeleteVery good looking! Nice size, simple & clean lines, yet nice details. You've nailed it, Beth.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. It is ordered!
DeleteThis is GORGEOUS!!! I looked online and it appears to be backordered until mid February which isn't unreasonable. To my mind it is definitely worth waiting for. Just about perfect in every way!
ReplyDeleteWhen I ordered it, my confirmation showed late April. The base will be in February, but the marble top not until April. I have learned with these supply line issues to be patient. It is what it is.
DeleteI think you solved your problem, and found a treasure, Beth. One has to wait for everything right now, mid February is not too bad. I am excited to see you style the piece as an addition to the kitchen. The perfect selection for your kitchen, elegant, nice details, and very useful.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much - it is now late April because the marble top is back ordered, but that's fine as the appliances will all be quite a wait as well.
DeleteI found a similar one with 2 drawers. It's on order
