Dressing Up

Peacock Caftan

I have been seeing everywhere news stories about shortages on everything this upcoming holiday season from zippers to toys to cars to appliances and much more. Many people are already doing their holiday shopping.

There are two pieces at Frances Valentine that I am not taking any chances on selling out. This red and white Peacock Caftan is so Chinoiserie Chic. It will be perfect for me for any holiday parties I attend or for entertaining at home over the holidays. I am crazy about the pink and coral one I recently got. I have contacted their team about doing navy and white and cobalt blue and white versions - fingers crossed.

The second item I am ordering is this ball skirt in red. It would be stunning paired with a cashmere sweater. I will also wear it with a white boy shirt. Very Caroline Herrera or Danielle Rollins. I seriously dislike pairing a fancy skirt like this with a fancy top - a really dated look. A crisp white shirt with sleeves rolled is such a fresh and modern look. I love red and will wear these year round, but they will be perfect for the holidays.

Everyone has their favorite white boy shirts. I have always liked J. Crew and have a collection of theirs. These are a couple of favorites.

I'm also on the hunt for a pink patent leather belt like in the Caroline Herrera photo. I love red and pink together.

  1. I adore both of these looks. In my book, Mrs. Herrera can do absolutely no wrong. Elegant, timeless and effortless.

    1. Effortless is the key and so few designers and individuals pull it off.

    1. Me too - so elegant as opposed to the typical awful mother of the bride dresses.
