The Chinoiserie Bathroom

Jennifer Wright - House & Home

Red, white and blue rooms are so often not done well, but this one is perfection, from the marble clad tub to the Moroccan trellis wallpaper, the blue and white Chinese cachepot with an orchid and that red pagoda mirror. Seriously Chinoiserie Chic! I love the navy and white striped soap dispenser too - a wonderful little nautical touch.

Let's find a pagoda mirror.

Click on the captions for links for full details and ordering. Horchow has this stunning pagoda mirror on a fabulous sale for just a couple more days so don't dilly dally. Paint it red or leave it in this beautiful gold.

The wallpaper is Farrow & Ball Tessella in #3604. Bold and dramatic. The quality of Farrow & Ball papers is outstanding. If you have not seen their papers, they use Farrow & Ball paint instead of the usual ink and the result is gorgeous.

If you are a fan of Matouk like I am, the Cairo in white with navy piping (can be monogrammed) would be a great choice.

  1. Totally love the way you broke this room down and provided useful info about sources. It is incredibly useful to those of us who spend hours searching for things. And while this type of thing can’t always be done, I welcome any info when available. Thanks, Beth.

  2. I really like how you provided the sources to have a bathroom like this, I too think they did it well, but then can you go wrong with blue and white? Pops of red seem to work well in colder climates, like adding red geraniums. Wonderful job, Beth.

    1. I completely agree about the pops of red especially when well chosen like here. This designer is in Canada BTW.
