I have this coffee maker and love it - also for hot tea, hot chocolate, lattes, cider, etc. UPDATE - this just went on sale for 50% until Saturday - grab it!
And lastly, paint the ceiling haint blue - my favorite is Farrow & Ball's Borrowed Light. You will feel like you are cooking in the clouds.
