This porch has great inspiration for bringing chinoiserie touches into your outdoor living spaces - blue and white Chinese porcelain, a Chinese garden stool, and Greek key pillows. Wicker trunks serve as a coffee table and are great for storage. I really like the striped outdoor curtains. That floor lamp looks really out of place and dated IMO.
I'm with you--lose the lamp.
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of patterns, the blue and white,so inviting.
ReplyDeleteI am doing my lanai in blue and white.
DeleteIs there even an outlet to plug in that lamp? Maybe the photographer dragged it in from another part of the house for staging or something. It definitely looks out of place.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty. I especially love the blue and white striped window treatment, but I'm wondering why Ballard Designs put the lamp in the photograph at all.
ReplyDeleteI agree - it adds nothing. I'm debating outdoor curtains for the lanai - love the look.
DeleteHow funny! First thought I had on seeing the picture before reading your post was how silly the lamp looked. Other than that it's great!
ReplyDeleteAgree on the lamp.
ReplyDeletePlus, that basket with the flower arrangement is too big for the garden stool. Feels more like a staged catalog shot than an actual person's home.
I do like the chairs and the wicker coffee table trunks.
I agree on the basket - I decided complaining about the lamp was enough - LOL.
DeleteSomebody said, ”We need some height,” so they stuck a lamp there. Wrong lamp and I just see it in a month all grody with bugs, mold, and cobwebs stuck to the shade.
ReplyDeleteI love the rest, especially the trunks, although you’d also have a devil of a time keeping them clean.
I'm wondering if your lanai has different screening than mine. I have absolutely zero bugs, mold, or cobwebs. Mine stays pristine. Curious.
