I am fortunate in my Florida home to have several options for dining - there is the dining room, the breakfast room, the breakfast bar, and the lanai.
The breakfast room has my Warren Platner table and Chinese Chippendale chairs from my previous Alexandria home. The beaded and tasseled chandelier is from Ballard Designs. The tulipiere oil painting is from a favorite shop in Alexandria, Virginia now long gone called The Pineapple. It hung in my foyer in Alexandria.
I had a fun day styling the breakfast room yesterday. But it was a rare rainy day yesterday, so I deferred taking photos until today with natural light. I promise photos tomorrow.
Here is another view of the room before. It's quite spacious.
Here is a sneak peek ----

Who needs a dining room when you have a breakfast room that size? I'm looking forward to the after pictures tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the after...so exciting. Know it will be elegant.
ReplyDeleteSo fun for you & for us!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember The Pineapple from my time in Alexandria. Shopping in old town was always a treat. Looking forward to seeing the updated breakfast room
ReplyDeleteJust the glimpse is stunning, love the tablecloth!
ReplyDeleteAre the chairs by any chance Ballard Designs also? I'm looking at some on their site and would love feedback from someone who has them. Love the chandelier!
ReplyDeleteThe sneak peek is just lovely! I cannot wait for the reveal. The tablecloth adds so much vibrancy to the room.
ReplyDeleteOh, do I miss The Pineapple. One Christmas I did all my shopping there, then had the best French onion soup ever at The Wharf. If J. Brown leaves OT, I leave; it's so much like the fabulous decor shops in FL, SC, GA.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely space, with tons of options to try--hard to pick and settle on just one.
ReplyDeleteNice pattern combo. The possibilities are endless (well, almost) when one considers anything from shower curtains to sheets and fabric by the yard --all that can easily be made into a table cloth. I'd be tempted to have several different table coverings to change out as the spirit moves me or to coordinate with a particular setting.
I found that Spoonflower offers a mind-boggling choice of patterns in different type of fabrics by the yard SO reasonably priced. I must have at least 60 samples of various fabrics from which I've ordered more yardage for upholstery, throw pillows and various projects like recovering lamp shades.
These are a few of my favorites that look amazing in coordination with blue and white porcelain:

I only wish I had many more rooms and projects for which I needed fabric. With your lovely house and furnishings, you'll never run out of possibilities.
Delta, I purchased Danika Herrick's Multi Leopard Pagoda Scenic Dark (from Spoonflower) to upholster a chinoiserie bench and love it!
DeleteDanika Herrick is the designer of most of the fabrics I love on Spoonflower. I love your choice as well.
DeleteWhat a lovely space. I would love to be able to get those chairs in Australia, but I have been looking for 10 years with zero results!
ReplyDeleteI have found a wonderful artist who might be perfect for your home. She is a New Zealand/Australian artist Asian ethnicity and she loves featuring Asian pots in her stunning watercolours. They might be the colourful Singaporean Peranakan teapot with lush Singapore orchids, or a blue ginger jar with a fish peeking out of it. Some are of coral and undersea life, others are of tropical blooms and orchids, and some are a crazy, fun mix of both in her Garden of Eden series. Her name is Gabby Malpas and her work is available as prints or well price originals. She will even do pieces on commission. Do look her up. You will love her lush, fun but delicate work.
