I have decided to redo the lanai with new flooring and furniture and spent yesterday in planning mode. I am looking for gorgeous blue and white tile for the floor. There are too many choices out there. I found this Emily Henderson patio example that I love. I have a wonderful tile guy, so I just need to find it. I had been thinking about a rug for the lanai, but I decided I'd rather tile.
Your home is looking so glam, I love the perspective of this photo. Can't wait to see what you do with the lanai. Have you thought about putting vases up on the cut outs around the kitchen?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, I have thought about experimenting with blue and white Chinese porcelain there. I have spots like that all over the house. I'll try it.
DeleteYour home is gorgeous. Spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWhen your Home Goods sees you drive up they must run to your car with a red carpet to roll out to the door!
ReplyDeleteIf they aren't they should.
DeleteBeth's worth her weight in HG finds and treasures.
Thanks all - I rarely walk in without finding something fabulous. And it's 5 minutes from my house!
DeleteBeth, your home is lovely, just so FLorida chic. I too enjoyed the angle on your photograph.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I am so happy with it. I think Florida really suits my style very well.
DeleteIt's all just lovely! Can you point me to the date of the post about your half bath? Somehow I missed it and have been dying to see that orange wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteHaven't posted it yet. I'll try to soon.
DeleteSo glad you are tiling your lanai. You'll enjoy it so much more and the tile you choose will be a huge decorating factor in the overall look.
ReplyDeleteI love E Henderson's patio tile especially the solid blue border she used around the perimeter. The source she listed www.granadatile.com
is particularly fun to play on because you can customize the colors right on the screen and get a general sense of what it would look like--my favorite kind of sites. No substitute for getting samples but still...
Your giraffe side table is so much more handsome because it's all brass, more creatively designed and less dainty/fragile looking. An amazing deal too, as only you are able to can snag.
Decorating a lanai tops my list of most enjoyable projects to undertake which is why I am always doing an imaginary one. Hopefully by the time I have one (or a loggia or a terrace) I can cut right to the chase.
Thanks - a lanai is a fun area to design.
Deletebyw...this is her tile: https://www.granadatile.com/en/collections/echo/essential-shapes/buniel-31-a/customize
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHi Beth. Your casa chinoiserie is wonderful. This sounds like a terrific project. I remember seeing these pictures of Emily Henderson's patio area somewhere, and thinking that it just looked smashing. I believe the tiles are encaustic cement, and are available at Home Depot. If not at HD, then not difficult to find. There is SO much beautiful tile work out there, it will make your head spin! How fun. I can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I am looking forward to this project.
DeleteP.S. LOVE the giraffe table!
ReplyDeleteThanks - a great find for sure.
Deletelove the floor and the giraffe tables (s)!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks - the floors were one of the reasons I bought this particular home - they are gorgeous!
