As you may recall, I bought a new pink velvet sofa for my study that I really love. I was thrilled to find a room that uses a pink velvet couch, as it is for sure rare.
This Amanda Lindroth room incorporates a stunning pink velvet corner banquette with bullion fringe, dramatic coral wallpaper, a lucite cocktail table, a Chinese Chippendale chair, a palm frond lighting fixture, bamboo blinds, wicker sconces, and a seagrass rug topped with a striped flatware rug. These rugs made out of seagrass squares are very well priced and a signature item of hers. She loves juxtaposing high and low end pieces. Note the pale green ceiling. The wallpaper is Schumacher's Great Barrier Reef.
I just found a second shot of this room with a vintage Blanc de Chine Chinoiserie monkey and a white faux bamboo sconce. I love this room.

Lovely post Beth! The CCC is lucky to have you giving it so much design love. The rug... I used to be able to buy these at World Market and Pier 1. I had to leave them behind in a house I just sold. I loved that they were inexpensive and I could stitch for a custom rug in sunroom and porch. I cannot find them anywhere now. Any sources out there?
ReplyDeleteEasily found online in squares - really cheap or as a rug. Look at Etsy and look at websites featuring Hawaiian and tiki bar things.
DeleteI, too, am in love with this room! AL does great work!
ReplyDeleteShe is perfect inspiration for my look here - tropical chinoiserie.
DeleteIt's a wonderful room! It looks like the top photo may have been cropped, which unfortunately excluded the wonderful details on each side of the room; the Chinoiserie monkey, the bamboo wall sconce, (love the sconce - I wonder where she found that), and the large pillows on the right.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was happy to find the second photo. Beautiful.
Delete(P.S. I just wanted to say, Beth, that I loved your perfume post from yesterday - thanks again!)
ReplyDeleteI got so many ideas. Can't wait to explore them.
DeleteThe natural fiber rug with another rug on top is having a moment here in Charleston too. We tend to put a vintage oriental as the top layer. I love the layered look! I adore that palm chandelier too....
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Beaufort, SC and love Charleston style. A vintage oriental layered on a seagrass rug sounds perfect!
DeleteI like the look of layering rugs.
DeleteLove that couch!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's stunning. And it looks comfortable.
DeleteA pink sofa and a large monkey! That is a room I want to stay in for hours. Love the palm lighting fixture. Heaven!
ReplyDeleteI agree - I love it all too.
DeleteIsn't that a perfect paper for your sea/tropical theme! It also comes in a fabric so cushions if you don't want to go wallpaper, though a feature wall would be stunning.
ReplyDeleteI agree - and it comes in many colors.
