I am always been very OCD about my hair and it has to be perfect 24/7. This has been a challenge with the heat and humidity of Florida requiring me to rethink my previously favorite hair products. I am a huge fan of Oribe. Last week, I received in the mail samples with a Nordstrom order of Oribe Brilliance and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner and Supershine Moisturizing Creme and my hair came out simply amazing. I ordered all three and they arrived yesterday.
And the icing on top, the containers are navy/cobalt blue with gold lettering. Beautiful. I may just have to leave them out they are so chic.

It occurred to me that I also love the packaging of my favorite perfume Narciso Rodriguez/black with pink and my favorite makeup Chanel/black with its iconic interlocking CCs. I am very visual, and I'm sure the aesthetics play a role. Do you have any examples of this with beauty products you use?
A little off the topic of beauty products, but I am a Manhattan drinker and love the packaging of my go-to cherries Amarena Fabbri. Beautiful blue and white ceramic vessels.

My go-to tipple for special occasions is a fig Manhattan, prepared with Luxardo cherries and Liber & Co. fig syrup. Too rich to drink often but just the thing when I feel festive.

DeleteI've always heard very positive things about Oribe products from professionals, and their packaging is beautiful, but have never tried them myself. I color my hair, so I have to use a shampoo specifically for colored hair. It's Rene Furterer volumea shampoo. I worked as an aesthetician for 20 years, and having tried many, many treatment products, so I'm more interested in how they perform, rather than their packaging. I make a distinction between treatment products, or products designed specifically to improve or treat skin and hair conditions, and beauty and fragrance products, which have a cosmetic purpose.

I have used Oribe styling products for years and think they are wonderful. I used to like Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner but they reformulated and I don't like them anymore. My old salon in NOVA used Oribe - they are great but pricey.

DeleteElijah Craig bourbon if you're not using Rye. Dolin Vermouth. Two drops of Angostura and you're all set! If you do want Rye, which I sometimes prefer because it makes a less sweet cocktail, then Sazerac is great.
DeleteI like either/both bourbon and rye. I just finished a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch and yesterday I bought Bulleit bourbon and rye. Sazerac is great - I also love Rittenhouse. I did the whole Kentucky Bourbon Trail and there are so many great ones - I used to drink Blanton's and now getting hard to find because of Pappy.
DeleteOn another topic. I told my husband about your fuschia vacuum cleaner. We didn't need a new vacuum and I love my Orecks. He started researching decided the bigger one was more powerful so he ordered it and it is RED! I only wanted it because I am in a very fuschia mood, having recently painted the ceiling in my dressing room fuschia. I will admit he does the vacuuming and it does a beautiful job. I knew you would understand. The vessels with the cherries are devine!
ReplyDeleteI had an Oreck too and loved it. But a cordless vacuum is a game changer. I ordered the Dyson I did because of the color - LOL. I love it.

DeleteI have been using Chanel beauty/treatment products since I was 24 years old. I have never found anything better than their cleanser, moisturizer, serums, and foundation products.

DeleteMy favorite Chinoiserie beauty product is my Chantecaille x de Gournay Lumiere Rose Highlighter compact with a pink and blue scene on the lid. I've never even used it! I just like to keep it on my vanity.
