This wonderful bath by interior designer Paolo Moschino featured in House Beautiful has some great ideas. I like his approach to decorating a bathroom as you would any other room in the house. The walls are done in my favorite paint, Farrow & Ball. The powder blue on the walls is Farrow & Ball Light Blue. The wainscoting is a powdery gray-Farrow & Ball Old White. I have found a very similar bench at Wisteria. The Chinoiserie painting is stunning of course. A similar look could be achieved by framing a blue and white Chinoiserie toile wallpaper. The claw foot tub, chandelier, sconces, and planter add more unexpected elegant touches. For more beautiful Chinoiserie bathrooms, click here.
J'adore ca!

ReplyDeleteLeeann-Tres chic!
ReplyDeleteAnne-It's a very calming and soothing space.
ReplyDeleteloves me some blue and white! at last, something beautiful to look at today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a calming, lovely space! I like how the artwork sets the tone for the whole room and really offsets the bench. I would love to have that room :)
ReplyDeleteKitty-I like more dramatic looks for a powder room, but you can't beat blue and white for a bathroom you bathe in-so soothing.
ReplyDeleteSarah-Me too-a wonderful room.
ReplyDeleteI feel so unevolved that I have never swooned to pale blue or gray. I love the benh and of course the wacky feet on the tub. By the way at Michael Devine Home there is a grayish pagoda wall bracket with your name on it!
ReplyDeleteI love that painting behind the tub....jaw droppingly gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHome Before Dark-I do love the way all the colors in the room are taken from that lovely Chinoiserie painting. The pagoda bracket is stunning.
ReplyDeleteAverill-It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI picture sitting in that lovely tub with bubbles up to my chin..only to be wisked away to another place & time. Gorgeous bath ~ Chinoiserie loveliness.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments Beth last week. Much appreciated!
