A beautiful room by New Orleans interior designer Melissa Rufty. I adore the wallpaper-Osborne & Little Summer Palace, the silk shade, and the corner commode.
This masculine bath is Joe Nye's featured in House Beautiful. The Laurent Stripe wallpaper by Cowtan & Tout is perfect for a gentleman's bath.
I ripped out the page of the first image and have kept it for years...not in my client idea books...but in Jill's idea books. I LOVE it. Holden and Dupuy were my style inspirations...and Duquette of course!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in southern Oklahoma with red dirt as far as the eye could see. Red is in my DNA. It was in my hair until it starting turning white. It is in my heart. I have red in every room. It is my neutral. Loved those red lacquered walls. Makes you want to dive right in!
ReplyDeleteI love Anne Holden's work. This is so warm and inviting. What a little red will do! Happy weekend to you.

I opened your page and said "Oooooo, wow!" That first bath is divine! I love every detail about that room.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting such beautiful spaces and have a great weekend :)
Jill-Great mentors without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteHome Before Dark-Tony Duquette said that his neutral was coral pink.
ReplyDeleteCatherine-Her work is wonderful. I love red too. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteSarah-I love that room too. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love following your blog. I am CRAZY for chinoiserie. Was even more excited to see my work on your post! Thank you! melissa rufty
ReplyDeleteMelissa-Thanks so much for stopping by. Your work is brilliant!

Leeann-Glad you like this. Have a bon weekend.
ReplyDeleteno. 1 is my favorite - really beautiful. I helped a friend paint a red wall a few years ago, and it was HARD - so many layers to build the gloss right. But the result is stunning.
ReplyDeleteSF-Did you read my post on Hollandlac? It gives a close look without all the layers.
ReplyDeleteThat corner sink is beautiful and love the wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteClayton Gray Home-A brilliant room and one of my favorite papers.
