Summer Palace

One of my favorite Chinoiserie wallpapers, Osborne & Little's Summer Palace that I have featured many times, is now the cover of a new book. The Well Dressed Home by Annette Tatum takes the popular feature from Domino and others of turning outfits into rooms. The first book of interior designer Annette Tatum, it shows you how to take inspiration from fashion and your own closet to create rooms that reflect your own personal style. It looks like a fun book for those of us who adore both fashion and interior design. Here is a look at the versatility of this wonderful wallpaper.

  1. Love it in blue, but the orange colorway reads a little too 70s for me (and that's strange b/c I LOVE orange!)

    Great, great pattern, though!

  2. Alison-I love the blue in a larger space, but the orange is quite wonderful in a smaller space like a powder room.

  5. Dear Chinoiserie-

    Lovely post, so inspiring.
The wallpaper shots are compelling--and will embolden many readers to try bold pattern, Chinoiserie, and more edgy colors.
Love also the previous Mary McDonald post, very vivid.
Love your blog--you are on my favorites blog roll.

  7. Martha-I think they are a compelling combination of vintage, Art Deco, classic, metallic, modern, and glamorous.
