One of the most common mistakes I see in people's homes is lack of attention to light bulbs. Even the most beautiful lamp can cast awful light if you are using generic white incandescent bulbs or those ghastly compact florescents. My favorite light bulb for lamps is the Sylvania Soft Pink in either a 60 watt or a three way. Pink bulbs are flattering to everyone's complexion and cast a lovely warm and rosy glow. The pink is very subtle and works in every room, but is amazing in bedrooms and bathrooms, casting a beautiful and natural light.
