Wicker handbags are a classic and are very popular in fashion today. But did you know that the original Birkin bag was wicker? Jane Birkin, a pop cultural icon in the sixties in the Swinging London scene, found her wicker bag in a fishing village in Portugal and wore it literally everywhere - shopping in Paris, on the beach in the south of France, skiing in cashmere, fur, and wicker, in Cannes in a black and gold cocktail dress with her wicker bag.
