Patience & Perserverance

NYBG Garden Pagoda Cream & Sugar Set

Back in 2009, I started collecting pieces from the New York Botanical Garden - Lunt Silversmiths Collection filled with fabulous chinoiserie pieces. It was immediately retired and became very collectible. From my post back in 2009 -

"The New York Botanical Garden and Lunt Silversmiths have created a beautiful collection of tableware and decorative accessories inspired by some of the finest examples of botanical art in the Rare Book Collections of the Garden's LuEsther T. Mertz Library. The lovely pieces combine 18th century botanical imagery with a modern sensibility."

I was able to collect these pieces -

Garden Pagoda Bottle Stopper

Faux Bois Chair Bookend

Garden Umbrella Cocktail Picks

Latticework Tea Glasses

Garden Plan Tray

Every now and again I will look on places like eBay and Etsy for a few pieces I never got from the collection. Yesterday the planets must have been in alignment because I found 5 in one day. My prize find is the beautiful pagoda cream and sugar set at top. I also found another pair of the garden pagoda bottle stoppers shown above and this beautiful piece -

Lattice Toast Stand

I got so excited I pulled together my collection and carefully polished it all with my favorite polish - Wright's Silver Cream. They are suppose to be delivered on Friday! The point is that sooner or later everything ends up resurfacing online at some point. And the thrill of the hunt is half the fun.
