Setting the Fourth of July Table

Kim Seybert

The Fourth of July is quickly approaching. I am not the biggest fan of setting my table with classic red, white and blue at CCC. I feel like it works much better in a farmhouse or traditional home or the like than a South Florida beach house with lots of pastels.

So this is a great example for me of tweaking red, white, and blue with coral. Use a large blue and white Chinese ginger jar as the centerpiece and fill it with branches spray painted with coral or watermelon spray paint. Collect branches from your garden if you can. I would fill smaller vases with white and blue hydrangeas. Hydrangeas are so classic.

I would definitely use one of my sets of bamboo flatware that I have in gold, silver, black, and natural. Bamboo flatware is my go-to for sure. I have lots of Estelle blue glassware to use. And of course blue and white chinoiserie china.

If you love place cards like I do, Caspari has some wonderful coral and chinoiserie versions. I always keep a supply on hand.

And to be exquisitely dressed when you are hostessing on the Fourth, check out the fabulous red, white, and blue collaboration between Mark Sikes and J.Mclaughlin here. It is selling fast.

How fabulous would this be? (I don't do casual - LOL).
