A high of 78 degrees and sunny here today - that's the holidays in South Florida for you. Why are they drinking Champagne out of wine glasses in this photo?

It's tradition in Ireland on New Year's Eve to open the back door to let the old year out, and after midnight, the front door is opened to let the new year in! I think this year deserves every door, every window, and the garage door to be wide open. I must say that this year can't end soon enough. 

I feel like everyone I know thinks this has been a difficult and stressful year. May 2025 be peaceful and prosperous for all of us.

If I opened all the doors here, I'd probably have an alligator wander in.

If you will be having a bottle of Champagne tonight, please open the bottle correctly. Having the cork and Champagne go flying is stupid and dangerous. Remove the foil and loosen but do not remove the wire cage. Holding the cork, hold the bottle at a 45° angle and gently twist the base of the bottle. Apply pressure gradually until the cork starts to ease out.
