Frances Valentine Marvelous Jacket

I love a gold jacket for the holidays. I was able to snag this at a fabulous price on the Frances Valentine Boxing Day Sale before it sold out and it arrives today FEDEX from the Madison Avenue store in Manhattan. I think I'll wear it for New Year's Eve.

An all gold outfit can be a bit much. I love gold paired with black. This jacket will be perfect paired with black cigarette pants or layered over a black dress or paired with a black skirt. Such a dressy and versatile piece. Black tones down gold and keeps it elegant and tasteful. I have a closetful of black having lived in the D.C. area for years. In most urban environments, dark colors like black are the colors of choice.

I wear black here in South Florida quite often by pairing it with gold accessories like gold shoes and handbag.

After Christmas sales are an ideal time to find a gold piece to incorporate in your wardrobe. This jacket is still available at several stores like Dillard's and Nordstrom but at full price. I'll post if they go on sale.

My party was a success last night. Another entertaining tip. My gated community has a beautiful large clubhouse overlooking the pool and a lake. I used it for my party as it is huge and can accommodate tons of people. I have hosted there three times now. And I come home to a perfect house with no cleanup. I know not everyone has this option, but it's great if you do. Lots of bubbly was consumed - we went through more than 20 bottles of Champagne.
