Collection Tiered Tartan Ball Gown Skirt |
This skirt is utterly my taste. Tulle from my dancing ballet for 20 years, tartan from decades in Alexandria, Virginia with its Scottish heritage and wonderful Scottish Walk Weekend. I used to swag my front door and windows in wool tartan for the Scottish Walk.
This is going in my cart right now since it is 40% off today. I will wear this for the holidays with a cashmere sweater or white shirt. And ballet flats of course. I am hosting a big New Year's Eve party and might wear it to that. The wonderful late Kate Spade, whose style I adored, once said that she started playing dress up at the age of 5 and never stopped.
"This season, we're creating casual drama in all the best ways.
This swishy skirt features tiers of tartan tulle and is our favorite way to get all dressed up without the dress."

Also a navy blue tulle version that I love too. "A floaty statement skirt with cascading tiers of sheer tulle, a slip lining underneath and a comfy elastic waistband for the perfect fit every time."

wow, if they'd only aligned that tartan on the first tulle skirt, it would've been A+...what a unique combo of tulle and tartan.. You sure find the most interesting and often controversial things!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really fun skirt! In the 80's I once owned a black Laura Ashley dress with a full skirt, and bought a white crinoline to go underneath. It was so much fun to wear, and I got lots of compliments.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are planning your holiday celebrations, Beth. I miss doing that, but I've not done much of it in the last few years, as I've been caring for family member, which consumes you. He is now on hospice, so very likely no big holiday celebrations for me this year.
Thanks for the fun post.
