Has everyone been watching the Olympics in Paris? I have been and really enjoying it. A large number of the U.S. athletes are from or train here in Sarasota, Florida. I thought I would share another favorite chinoiserie filled French abode. This is Valentino's chateau just outside Paris.
This is the winter garden. Check out this other shot below of the same room with that stunning English chinoiserie mirror. I adore all the chinoiserie including the Chinese garden stool, ginger jars, Blanc de Chine, framed Chinese panels, the pagoda mirror, and that faux bamboo cocktail table that holds famille rose plates. The fringed banquette in mint green striped silk is stunning. This is so Old School and timeless.

I will be hunkering down inside today as tropical storm Debby passes by on its way to likely becoming a hurricane as it makes landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida.
Stay safe if you are in its path in Florida and the Southeast.
A head's up that today is the last day for Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale here.
Those photos are perfection. I like everything. It would not be hard to live in any of Valentino's homes.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will sustain minimal damage to your property. A few palm fronds on the ground. I've been keeping up with your weather, and you should be out of the woods by tomorrow. Stay unruffled and give the little girls an extra treat.

Just checked your weather again. The storm looks worse than it did hours ago. I have very selfish reasons to wish it gone. I would be very unhappy if it would get in the way of your daily posts. Hearing the wind is daunting, and the rain. Be of stout heart and keep a stiff upper.
