I got this a few years ago when Miles Redd had an outdoor collection for Ballard Designs. I even drove up to Tampa and got it and drove it back here. I got free shipping having it delivered to the Tampa store and it was at a great mall - International Plaza that I had fun shopping at - lots of stores we don't have here in the Sarasota area.
BTW, I really miss my Audi wagon every day! I got an Audi sedan as you will recall a couple of years ago and while I like it, that Audi hatchback fit virtually every piece of furniture and art and such so easily. I could not find one in the entire state of Florida when I was car shopping and ended up with the sedan, which is not as functional at all. That was when there were supply issues with cars and I was lucky to get anything close to what I wanted. Great wagons are so hard to find now - everything is SUVs. When our kids were growing up, most of us had luxury wagons with the third seat and I loved them. My good friend drove a red Mercedes station wagon that I thought was so chic. Oh well....
This is my hoofed coffee table that I love!

Here is another view of the seahorse coffee table. Perfect for Florida or any beach house. Or a child's room, sun room, screened porch....

Do you say coffee table or cocktail table? I believe that the terms are interchangeable. I Googled it and got really stupid answers. One website claims that coffee tables are shorter and cocktail tables taller. Another website says coffee tables are larger, cocktail tables smaller. Still another says that coffee tables are oval or circular and cocktail tables are square or rectangular. Where do they get this nonsense? I believe that it may be regional. My personal experience is that midwesterners and southerners say coffee table and east and west coast types say cocktail table. At any rate, this one is fun.
It's a wonderful coffee table! Everything is cyclical, and I'm sure luxury wagons will return again when enough of us become too old to "climb aboard" a huge SUV.
ReplyDeleteIn the early 80s we had a station wagon where the third row seat was rear-facing. I still cringe when I think about my oldest back there on road trips, facing the traffic. Fortunately we never had an accident. I am now on my fifth minivan and I'm in my early 70s. Not very glamorous, but it's certainly functional for hauling the grandchildren around, as well as the occasional antique find.
