Silvie Garden Stool |
I'll bet most everyone reading this has at least one blue and white Chinese garden stool. I have many at CCC both indoors and outdoors. I have found a new one that really is an especially lovely example.
I love garden stools next to a sofa or chair to hold a drink or a book, wonderful as a plant stand, in a bathroom or powder room holding towels or toiletries, the list of uses is endless. I love a pair outdoors flanking a doorway. They are also beautiful just an objet d'art. A Chinese garden stool is a quintessential chinoiserie piece and belongs in the home of every lover of chinoiserie.

"Our Silvie Garden Stool has everything we love in a classic chinoiserie design. The lovely blue and white floral, botanical, and bird motif is beautifully hand painted on a hexagonal silhouette of durable, high-fired porcelain. The top and sides are pierced to allow water and cooling air to pass through. We love this special accent piece as a petite side table and quick pull-up seating indoors or in covered outdoor spaces."
I personally find that many of the most elegant garden stools are a hexagonal design like this one. They are generally more expensive and are often found in antique versions. Each panel turns into a little work of art. This one is very well priced and on sale right now.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Today is 6 weeks since my knee injury. I see the orthopedic surgeon on Monday and if everything looks good, I do a little physical therapy and should be good to go. It has been a very long 6 weeks though.
Garden stool is lovely. They are the most useful things to have around the house, inside and out. You too have a wonderful weekend. Six weeks is a long time to deal with a painful knee, but you are such a stoic and seem to have dealt with it well. Good luck on Monday. Please, an update.
