So Monday is the solar eclipse as I'm sure you are well aware. Are any of you in the path of totality? It will only be about 57.9% here, but it will be sunny and clear, so it should still be dramatic.
Make sure to get approved solar eclipse glasses if you intend to view it. Warby Parker has free ones, Lowe's has them at checkout for a couple of dollars, and Amazon has overnight delivery on many. Lots of folks are traveling to Texas for the best viewing, but now it appears that the weather may not be cooperative there with gray skies and rain.
I won first place last night with my Irish whiskey selection Sexton. I am not the hugest Irish whiskey fan, but I chose it because it has the only woman master distiller in Ireland and she is one of the few in the world. I actually really liked it. The bottle is stunning - hexagonal in black and gold with medieval fonts.

This is so me I had to share -
Beautiful bottle! We're in the path of totality, but the weather forecast isn't encouraging...
ReplyDeleteIn the path of totality, but it is iffy because of the weather.
ReplyDeleteLAS
Off to the liquor store. Can't stand whiskey, but the bottle is irresistible and a must on my bar. Again Beth, I can always count on you to lower my checking account. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were dating, my now-husband told me that his idea of camping was a Holiday Inn Express. I was like "good, we can keep dating." 😆
ReplyDeleteIn the path of totality and hoping the weather is better than currently predicted in the DFW area.
ReplyDeleteI would have chosen that whiskey based of the attractiveness of the bottle alone.😆 I judge a book by its cover.🤣 Please be ever-mindful of that alligator -- I am fretting about that.💚
ReplyDeleteI think one third of the sun will be covered by the moon here in the San Francisco bay area, so weather permitting, we may get to see a partial eclipse. Congratulations on your first place. I am not much of a whiskey, bourbon, scotch drinker either. I prefer gin, vodka, tequila, champagne or wine. As far as camping goes, it's either a four or five star hotel!
ReplyDeleteMy idea of camping is sleeping with the window open. With a screen on it of course lol!
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly on camping Beth. I have always said my idea of camping is a Howard Johnsons! Cheers to another wonderful post!
ReplyDeleteMy late father in law had a used car lot and he had taken in a camper on trade. He and his assistant were cleaning it up a little and he ran into some rusty metal and made a deep cut on a finger. We talked him into going to the emergency room when after a few hours it still wouldn’t quit bleeding. As the doctor opened it up and dragged out some rusty bits, he said, “Are you a camping enthusiast?” My father in law scoffed and said, “No, I like to drive a Cadillac and stay in a Holiday Inn.”
ReplyDeleteThat was over 50 years ago and I still laugh about it!
