The other day I posted about this wicker urn I had just found at HomeGoods. Yesterday I was looking at my feed on Instagram and I saw this photo below.
It was taken by Mark Sikes at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. It features a wicker urn filled with vintage tennis rackets.

Such a fun idea for styling a wicker urn (or a large ginger jar), especially for a beach house or summer house.
I have a large ginger jar in my lanai filled with vintage polo mallets. Vintage sports equipment is easily found on places like eBay. eBay has over 11,000 listings for "vintage tennis racket" currently.
I was raised in Europe and I still use the spelling "racquet." I always have to remember to change the spelling to "racket" as is preferred in North America and it always looks wrong to me - LOL.
Love a bit of serendipity in decor,the raquets do this nicely. I like to place a raquet or golf club in my umbrella stand. Always get a compliment on it,pure whimsy.

ReplyDeleteI thought racquet was correct. The other spelling looks odd to me.
