The vast majority of wicker pieces on the market today are natural wicker. I love unpainted wicker, but then I see a piece painted like this, and I love it as well. Here Amanda's wonderful Sloane side table is painted in her signature Nassau blue. This piece is part of her new summer collection.

The paint color reminds me of a favorite paint color of mine - Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue - another blue with a lot of green in it.

I love the scalloped top. It also has a glass insert - a great idea for wicker tables for a more even surface for glasses and such and for cleaning.
Back in the day, most wicker was painted white. I have the white wicker chaise from my daughter Kate's nursery in my living room at CCC.

Do you see my asparagus boxes in the photo above? I found this signed 1994 Metropolitan Museum of Art one yesterday online for my collection. I have quite a few more asparagus boxes that are not on display. I would love to figure out a spot to have them all out.

I’m a fan of painted wicker and those greenish blues have always been a favorite. I think your asparagus boxes would look pretty and fresh displayed on a white background - a cabinet with a fretwork front is stuck in my head. I’m sure you’ll come up with something fabulous!
