Olive Oil

I am headed later this morning to an olive oil class by a certified olive oil sommelier where we will learn about the olive oils of Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, followed by lunch in the garden room of one of my favorite restaurants in Venice.

I use lots of olive oil at CCC and will enjoy gaining more knowledge. I am a big fan of Muraglia olive oil - the olive oil is wonderful and the containers are stunning - I leave mine out on the counter. One of these would make a marvelous Mother's Day gift.

The ultimate kitchen-to-table olive oil, this award-winning Italian oil works equally well for cooking and finishing. To preserve its rich flavor and aroma and protect it from sunlight, the extra-virgin olive oil is bottled for us in a hand-painted ceramic container that can be enjoyed as a vase or serving vessel after the oil is finished. Produced in Northern Apulia from Peranzana olives, Muraglia olive oil is cold-pressed using traditional granite grindstones for perfect structure and balance. The result is a robust, medium-fruity green oil whose peppery flavor offers notes of artichoke and fennel. Enjoy it in vinaigrettes, soups and sauces, or drizzled over pasta, grilled meat, chicken and seafood.

The bottles are little works of art. They can be reused as a vase, or refilled with olive oil or anything you like. I have the striped bottle. Do you have a favorite?

  1. I love giving pretty bottles of good olive oil as gifts. I love these!

  2. I bought two of the striped ones as hostess gifts. Next I'm going to buy myself one. The tentacles one, but I love them all. 💚
