Apricot |
My favorite fruit is the apricot and I love the color apricot. A pinky peach, it is a softer version of coral and orange. It is an incredibly flattering color to paint your walls - everyone looks good against an apricot backdrop. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2023 is Magenta. I am personally not a fan of magenta. I think I'll ignore it and make Apricot my Chinoiserie Chic Color of the Year.
Apricot was a favorite color of Mario Buatta. He loved bedrooms with apricot walls, pale blue ceilings, and white woodwork. He often glazed his apricot painted walls. His own apartment was painted apricot.

Blue and white Chinese porcelain looks wonderful against apricot, as does black and gold lacquered Chinese furniture.
Benjamin Moore Apricot Tint #086 is a favorite apricot paint color of mine.

My favorite roses are apricot. They look sensational in a blue and white ginger jar.

I just love this post. Beth, you are a funny lady, making apricot your color of the year - that's brilliant. Apricot rooms cast a very flattering light, and I think Mario probably knew a thing or two about that. Personally, I am not a magenta lover either, although I do love many shades of pink. All of these rooms you have pictured are just lovely. Thank you for such a pretty post. It's especially light and refreshing when the weather outside is so gloomy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. I love pink in pretty much every shade except magenta - too purple for me.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post. Thank you.
