Interior design books are one of my favorite gifts to give and to receive. These are recent releases that would be wonderful additions to the library of any interior design lover.
With its pink de Gournay chinoiserie cover, I would buy this book just to sit on my cocktail table. But Jonathan Rachman is also a favorite interior designer of mine. Born in Sumatra in Indonesia and trained in Switzerland, this San Francisco based interior designer has a style that is eclectic, colorful, and sophisticated, blending the East and the West.

Not a new book, but after the recent passing of Furlow Gatewood at the age of 100, this book belongs in every interior design lover's collection.

On this exclusive Veranda house tour, you’re invited to step inside spectacular Southern homes created by a diverse group of innovative designers and architects that share one important credo: an abiding love of beauty.
Most important, you’ll discover how Southern style is wildy inclusive –an amalgamation of many different aesthetic sensibilities. It’s a style that resists easy categorizing and also defies cliché. You’ll experience how the warmth of being “at home” is achieved through imaginative and evocative design by visionary designers including Keith Robinson, Mark D. Sikes, Bobby McAlpine, Bunny Williams, Darryl Carter, Phoebe Howards and others.

Alex Papachristidis is also one of my favorite designers. Years ago Traditional Home featured a home he did in Seattle - he chose Benjamin Moore Patriotic White for the walls, which is a beautiful pale aqua. I have used the color in several homes since, and I always thank him for that.
ReplyDeleteOoh...yummy! Interior design books are perhaps my favorite, and I always look forward to your recommendations, Beth.
