Oscar de la Renta - Punta Cana


When we think of Punta Cana, most people think of the gorgeous home of Bunny Williams and John Rosselli. One of the most beautiful rooms of all times was at the late Oscar de la Renta's residence in Punta Cana. Note all the blue and white Chinese porcelain and all the wicker chairs.

I especially love the table piled with books and the red coral branches in the photo below.

I saw a great DIY a few years ago where you collect knobby branches and spray paint them in matte red to copy the look of coral branches. Vintage coral necklaces can be found at sources like Etsy.

The very first time I have ever seen anyone actually sitting on a Chinese garden stool - probably just for the photo shoot!

  4. I did the DIY coral with red paint/branches. It looked pretty realistic. After a few years in the attic, though, it had to toss it. Oscar was so elegant -- even in bare feet!
