Blue and white Chinese planters are such an elegant and classic choice for potting real or faux large plants or trees indoors or out. And there are other great uses for one too.

Here are some great choices in blue and white fish bowls and planters.
Guess what was sitting at my front door this morning? A Florida Bobcat.

Florida Bobcat |
I spooked him when I got my phone to take a picture and he moved a bit, but here he is below.

My Morning Guest |
Wow! That would startle me to see a bobcat so close to my house. I'm surprised we have not seen on lately at our farmhouse. Sometimes we set up game cameras and have captured a mountain lion on film right behind our house.
ReplyDeleteThe wildlife here is amazing. The bobcat was nothing compared to the wild hogs.
DeleteBetter keep a close eye on your dogs!!
ReplyDeleteThey are indoor dogs, but I will keep them out of the lanai as well for a while. The bobcat spent the entire day in my garden.
DeleteLove the planters...love the bobcat!
ReplyDeleteHe was in my garden all day, even sitting outside my kitchen window when I was at the kitchen sink.
DeleteWOW - he's gorgeous, but I would have spilled my coffee for sure ;)
ReplyDeleteThe wildlife here is amazing - alligators, wild hogs, cranes, egrets, river otters, armadillos, tortoises, owls, hawks, eagles - just to name a few!
DeleteFantastic picture of the bobcat, and how amazing that you were able to get such terrific, up close picture of this wild animal! He's so gorgeous. I love all animals - domestic and wild. What kind of camera did you use? You just may have a new career as a wildlife photographer, Beth.
ReplyDeleteThat photo was not mine - it was a stock photo of a Florida bobcat. As I said in the post, he moved when I went to get my phone so I could not get a closeup.
DeleteLove every single blue and white potted situation! And that bobcat what a visitor!!
ReplyDeleteIt is an adventure here!
DeleteI adore all these photos but you must tell me how you used the vase as a Christmas tree stand (your secret please). Also, seeing the bobcat and so many other wildlife species is one more blessing of living in Florida. BTW I can’t believe your in Venice! I’m in Englewood! If you ever decide to offer some adult ed class on interior design please let me know !!
ReplyDeleteWe are neighbors. As I put in the caption, the Christmas tree example is interior designer Matthew Monroe Bees, not me. I did a post on this previously as he did not share his secret, but followers here have used sand, rocks, or a concrete inner pot, depending on whether the tree is fresh or faux. The bobcat spent the entire day in my yard. Florida is wild!
DeleteI adore the Ralph Lauren planters. Actually I adore the entire Ralph Lauren room. I'd love to own everything in it. Sadly enough, I find the planters big enough for my palm tree to be way beyond my price range.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. Over 16" the prices really get crazy. I am fortunate to have many large palms in my garden, so those suffice for me. But that palm is such a great look.
DeleteThat Ralph Lauren Home picture is what my dining room/library wants to be when it grows up! A palm tree in a blue and white porcelain pot, bookshelves, a round table, wicker chairs - heart be still!
ReplyDeleteI adore library dining rooms so much. So cozy too.
