The Chinoiserie Fireplace

Amanda Lindroth

For those of us who live in the South or tropical venues, we may choose a more decorative approach to the fireplace if we have one but tend not to use it the majority of the year.

Here Amanda Lindroth uses a collection of seashells and her wonderful wicker pagodas. This is the last day to take 25% of these and her accessories and linens. My favorites are the pagodas, the pineapple, and the tulipiere.

Here are more great ideas for the fireplace. These are also ideal for non-working fireplaces or fireplaces during the summer. I would love to hear your favorite. My two favorites are the Amanda Lindroth above and the Mark Sikes below also with a collection of seashells.

Here is a wonderful option for the fireplace (or the kitchen, bathroom, all kinds of spots). I have this exact same giant seashell and this is a really fabulous deal.  $37.00 - you will find these on other websites for up to $200. This would be wonderful in the fireplace by itself, or filled with smaller seashells, or perhaps filled with vintage Christmas ornaments for the holidays. Or use it in the bathroom for guest towels or toiletries, in the kitchen filled with fruit or vegetables, on a console table filled with orchids, as a centerpiece on the dining table; the possibilities are limitless. I am definitely planning to use mine for the holidays.

  1. The Colony is my gold standard of everything tropical chinoiserie, I am SO enamored of that place. And their fireplace does not fall short.
