I love animal print and especially leopard in my home and in my wardrobe, but there are few things that can go south faster if not used with a sophisticated and light hand. Less is definitely more. Mixing and matching animal print is a no-no as is wearing it head to toe. Done right, it is an elegant and timeless choice.
Leopard and chinoiserie are an absolutely wonderful pairing. I have several leopard pieces sprinkled throughout by home and many in my closet. Animal print looks especially good in the fall.

Here are some great animal print options.
BTW Frances Valentine is having their Friends and Family sale with 25% off select items.
Rothy's has some great options. I just ordered this pair. You can use this link to get $20 off your first order.
I also like these a lot.
These are darling - I love the red edging.
This post is "SPOT" on - pun intended - LOL. I just ordered 3 pairs of Animal Print shoes yesterday. One espadrille, one ankle boot and one pair of flats. My rule of thumb for animal print or leopard print attire - is ONE - and ONE only. I can't stand it when someone kills it with - leopard earrings, belt, bracelet, handbag and shoes - ALL together :( Faux pas IMHHO. Blessings 2 U
ReplyDeleteSo true - it can be so elegant or so tacky.
DeleteLove it all! Ordered Rothy’s shoes!
ReplyDeleteFantastic - you'll love them.
DeleteI love animal print too. I bought a pair of black and white zebra hide hair boots on sale a couple of seasons ago from The Attico, and I just adore them. Bergdorf's has a pair of black and white over the knee hide hair boots in leopard right now, for only...$3,200.00! (FAR more than what I paid for mine!)
ReplyDeleteIs that your living room with the navy couch, Beth? It looks smashing. Please tell me what the green upholstery fabric is. It's beautiful.
I purchased two books which I've seen featured on your blog; Island Hopping, by Amanda Lindroth, and The Well Adorned Home, by Cathy Kincaid, and they are so very pretty. I'm really enjoying them.
(Love Harpers's doggie sweater.)
My boots are just sitting in my closets here. Yes, that's my living room. I don't recall the fabric - upholstered many years ago. The slipper chair is signed Baker I got on eBay for almost nothing and had reupholstered. The Amanda Lindroth book is one of my favorites.
DeleteJust had to say how much your emails lift up my morning! SO much fun and inspiration! I so look forward to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Eve M.
