I had the most wonderful week here in my little paradise and I am looking forward to kicking back this weekend. I hope you are too. Yesterday my gorgeous gold bamboo flatware arrived. Remember when I said it was 46 pieces? My lovely eBay seller had 8 additional teaspoons that she included as a little gift. Today they all get a little bath and polish.
Never put gold flatware in the dishwasher. Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry promptly. A little baking soda and water made into a paste can be used for extra shine and polish.
I also received my new set of cobalt blue stemless Estelle wine glasses. Beautiful!
I was on Instagram yesterday and I ended up on the website of London based interior designer Samantha Todhunter whose style I love, using chinoiserie and tropical touches in homes dating back as far as the 16th century. Having lived for many years in Alexandria, Virginia with its very old historic homes, I love this eclectic approach to interior design.

Stay safe if you are in the Northeast. It's hard to believe I am in South Florida and there is a hurricane approaching New York and Massachusetts. Crazy.
Wishing you many years of enjoyment out of your gold flatware and Estelle glassware. Never heard of Samantha Todhunter until now. OMG, she's wonderful! The green and white outdoor fabric with the yellow and white fringe - just fabulous! So exuberant. One could never feel depressed sitting there. (What is that fabric?)

DeleteThat kitchen reminds me of yours in Alexandria. Love that aesthetic. Thanks for posting the fireplace-we have one with similar coloration in Florida and this shows how to integrate it with blue and white!
