This wonderful entryway in an East Hampton home features a beautiful collection of blue and white Chinese porcelain with some oversized ginger jars. It appears that the one under the console needed to be sans lid to fit. Has the lid been inverted? Bird prints, a stenciled and painted floor, and a striped stair runner are lovely choices. I love the pair of hall chairs.
Oh my, yes, please. It is gorgeous in every way.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteSoft & lovely, elegant yet casual. I'm hoping it's just the camera angle that is causing those stairs to look so so steep - practically vertical. Bunny can do no wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the camera angle.
DeleteThose chairs are a little too eccentric for my taste, but otherwise I love, love, love this entry!
ReplyDeleteHall chairs are very historic and highly sought after.
DeleteI love this entry. That huge ginger jar at the entrance is wonderful as is the stenciled floor. The chairs aren’t my taste but they add an edge which is what makes a great designer. Also, they probably aren’t shown in their best light with that camera angle.
ReplyDeleteHall chairs are incredibly historic and quite lovely. Dating back to the 18th century, they were often decorated with the family crest or coat of arms. Guests would sit on them, waiting to enter the home. They were often decorated with black and gold chinoiserie.
DeleteThe Audubon swans are a favorite.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
Deletei'd love to recreate that stenciled floor, any mention of the paint colors used?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately not.
